Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

In the next two months a couple of brand new A350 with the Q Suite should be coming online right?

You are gambling with unknown factors and whilst it may pay off the most likely scenario this far in advance is disappointment.
Over the last eighteen months there have been several hundred postings to the effect that "Never book flights based on aircraft type. You may be disappointed" That now holds true for Qsuites.
Thanks for the welcome. I was toying with either the A380 flight (I've never flown QR's one!) for the bar or the 77W for the Qsuite. As I'm in flex J I'll take the punt on QR7 and switch to QR9 on the day if needed. QR's product is fabulous but they are having the same issues EK did 5 years ago of the fleet being maddeningly inconsistent during a period of both product and aircraft enhancement

Is there any particular reason why the A350 deliveries continuously get pushed back. I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but observing the A350 delivery list, the QR A350 seem to be repeatedly being pushed back.

IIRC a couple of A350 were scheduled to be delivered in April. Looking at the list now, A7-ALO is supposed to be delivered in July. -ALP and -ALQ are delayed until May/June as well.

A7-ALP has been delivered. Seat count it similar to current config : C36Y247.

I'm guessing it doesn't have the Qsuites.

Gregoire Dumas you can not assume from the seat numbers that the latest delivery still is fitted with the old seats. The best available information is to be found in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28008852-post174.html.

AAB indicated that the C seat count will be identical. We'll probably find out in the next couple of days whether or not the bird has the new C.

On one hand, it's seems pretty pointless to take delivery of a new airplane with the "old" product (particularly if the bird probably wasn't equipped with a cabin product when the new product was revealed). On the other hand, there may be deadlines to respect by QR and the birds that are to be delivered this quarter were already scheduled to get the old product.

I don't think that it is particularly annoying. The A350 seat is IMO very good and we'll have probably have to wait another couple of months before some routes will have reliable Q Suite service and probably until early 2019 to have the Q Suite across the whole A350/777 fleet.

I was referring to a few post back when someone posted the seat count difference for the 77W.
But I'll more than happy if you can prove me wrong

What a coincidence:

It does not.

Only the delivered B77W next year will have the QSuite fitted upon delivery.

None of the 359s will have it fitted either. Nothing solid on whether the 35Ks will have it though.

Sounds like a bit of waste then for the new A350s joining the fleet. The current business class will only be in use for around 1-2 years then get retrofitted.

The first QSuite aircraft will fly within the next 45 days.

On the 777s, there is no loss of seating - so a 42 J bird will still be a 42 J 777.

Wouldn't the number of J seats increase on the A350s? The QATAM A350 have a similar configuration to the QR 777 and feature more seats between L1 and L2 (30 seats rather than 24). Seems that QR could either slightly increase number of J seats or increase Y seating.

Not 45 days - 10JUN in fact. It will fly QR7/8 for a few days then go to Le Bourget and be in static display then return to QR7/8 again.

no plans exist for the 359s to be retrofitted. As I said, the 35Ks are a different matter and nothing is released about that yet.

I'm not at liberty to say when the inaugural will be, but it will be regularly rostered within the next 45 days.
