Great trip

We are just back from our trip and I have to say a big thanks as always to those who assist in finding the fare and all the follow up information. The flights out to NRT and back from HND were excellent. It was good to try the 777-300 for DOH-NRT and then from DOH-AMS. WE had been on a A350-900 before but the flight from HND was excellent and I slept for the most time ever on a flight I think ! Crews were very positive and helpful on all sectors.
The use of the JAL lounge at HND was good with great food there and a relaxing time which may have helped the sleep.
We used the Richmond Premier Hotel at Asakusa as recommended on here and it was a good find and good value.
We had a great time in Tokyo and will now go back as we need a lot more time to see and do more and try and get out across the whole country.
All down to FT !!

Have you been on QR194 on 13th Oct, QR812 on 14th Oct, QR807 on 17th Oct or QR193 on 18th Oct?
And have you stayed at the Marriott Tokyo for the first night? If yes, then we crossed paths a few times at the lounges and at the check-in in the hotel :P

I’m trying not to tie myself into a pretzel worrying about Typhoon Lan. I am really looking forward to this trip and would hate to lose even one day.

Just flown outbound flights from BRU-HND great flights and service even though the BRU-DOH was subbed with a A330.

Overnighted in DOH, how cool is the J/F check in and security/immigration!! Felt like royalty.

Spectacular views of the Himalayas:-)
Transited from HND-SGN on a QF award and now enjoying a 7 night cert at JW Marriott Phu Quoc.

life doesn’t get much better than this....

Oh dear. I'm on QR194 now (BRU-DOH) and my flight to Haneda is tomorrow.

Not looking good...

Just returned a few days ago, agreed on the Himalayas! I think the whole cabin was either asleep or had their shades closed but I couldn't stop taking pictures and had my face glued to the windows during that part of the flight. Stunning views, really glad to have experienced that.

I’m scheduled to fly out of HND on QR813 on Tuesday (12:01) and I’m also worried about the flight. I was originally going to be flying in from Fukuoka on Monday, but given the typhoon, I figured going to Fukuoka would be a waste. I took the Shinkansen back to Tokyo today and I’m hoping JL will refund the separate FUK-HND flight. I’ll keep you guys updated.

Typhoon Discussion DOH-HND/NRT

Last I checked this morning QR hadn’t issued any travel bulletins related to Typhoon Lan. I know they only do one flight per day to each, but has anyone heard about cancellations yet?

Im meant to fly 00:01 Tuesday from HND

I haven't seen anything either yet - I'm on the HND flight the following day (hopefully!). All flights getting out fine at the moment but I think it might be too early to say what will happen until late tonight / tomorrow morning at this point.

I would, however, start considering your options now just in case, so if the flight is cancelled you are ready to act immediately to grab what might be the last remaining seats at a busy time of year out of TYO.

I’m on the same flight as you. The inbound flight makes a pretty quick turnaround so I think a delay/cancellation may be inevitable.
