Qatar in the air may be the best thing since sliced bread but their customer support is stale bread.
I was forward by Qatars handling agents that every thing had to be so precise and you must cross the 't' and dot the 'i' and other airline is so precise
After checking in on line, taken in A & E hospital and could not continue journey.
On leaving hospital after 3 days given a discharge letter which I sent to Qatar.
First it was rejected because it was not signed and then rejected again because it did not have a stamp on it.
As the hospital said this is now 2016 and will live in the digital age and they had a real problem trying to find an old stamp to keep Qatar happy.
What a difference with the help I received from BA with connecting flights in connection with this journey.
Think twice about booking Qatar as I judge a company on how they treat you when you have a problem.

If you spend enough time in this part of the world, you'll learn that signatures and company stamps are everything. The colonial Brits taught the Indians about bureaucracy and it's still alive and well in the Gulf
Clearly, it's an attempt to reduce fraud, but as you suggest, fairly meaningless in the digital age.
Hope you are feeling better now.

I sympathise having played that game when I cancelled a an SE Asia round robin when I broke my foot a few years back. Papers, signed and stamped required by all and sundry. It's a giant job creation scheme. You just have to smile and provide the paperwork!
