it really is aggravating dealing with QR and their lounge policy (particularly after being in Al Safwa yesterday)
the last two times I purchased an upgrade I was allowed in Al Mourjan, not today, they sent me to the generic 1st Class Lounge
they said I was only allowed in Al Mourjan the previous 2 times because the 1st Class Lounge was crowded? so who knows if that is true or not?
as Platinum member, I certainly do not feel all too appreciated by QR when other OW airlines treat me far better + they have fabulous lounges that I have access to no matter what class my ticket is in, free or paid

Arriving last Sunday at 5.30am at HIA, I was surprisingly sent to Al Mourjan instead of Oneworld First Class Lounge (Platinum member travelling in Economy); it seems they were sending almost everybody to AM because the rubbish first class lounge was overcrowded.
Nice except the crowd I found there, almost every seat was busy, especially in the restaurant.
If I was a paid Business Class traveller I would have complained for that!

I travel in paid J a fair amount on QR, and am in Al Mourjan regularly. While I much prefer to grab a booth; I'm also perfectly happy to sit at the bar. I've never seen more than two other people seated at the bar.

I can say the same, even during rush hour nearing midnight and during the wee hours of the morning.

When I was in Al Mourjan Lounge around midnight a few months back the bar area was very busy however I could still get a seat which was ideal however most of the seats at the bar were taken
