SIN to DOH, which flight in J?
 

Will fly this sector in J.

There are three flights daily, 945, 943 and 947. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to any of the departure times from SIN? In terms, of onboard catering, crew, lounges (in SIN and DOH), etc.

I will be in transit in DOH and I'm thinking of booking the maximum amount of layover time I can and taking one of the free city tours for transit passengers.

Any advice which of the three flights will be best will be appreciated. Thanks.

Depends if you like to sleep on the aircraft. If you are like me and don't then 943 is the natural choice.

If you feel like taking the free tour then 495 would be the only option that will allow you to register for the tour. If you plan to organise your own then 493 seems logical to enjoy the flight and later rest at the lounge before your next flight, assuming you purposely choose a connecting with long layover in DOH.

You might get more feedback if you help by saying a) what time you land in DOH, and b) what time those flights leave, as I imagine most people don't know off the top of their head what time QR943/5/7 departs....

What do you primarily want to do on the SIN-DOH flight? Sleep, eat and drink, use the IFE, look out the window, play football in the aisle etc. etc.

Since the lounges at DOH are open 24/7 there are no problems there. Just relax and enjoy the excellent in-flight service.

Everyone who posts here has likes and dislikes and prejudices so doing a bit of work yourself answering the questions posed above and following the links will give you a good idea of which flight is best for you to choose.

As this time I will fly SIN - DOH - ???, ??? is yet to be determined so I don't have an exact departure time for my outbound flight from DOH.

I do qualify for a visa on arrival and as I've never been to Qatar I'm interested in the city tour if my flight schedules allow. I will fly out in F or J, so I will have access to the lounge(s) in DOH. (Yes, I'm aware that QR only have F service to LHR, CDG and BKK).

Ideally, I'd like to arrive, head to the lounge to freshen up and then head out for the city tour. I've never been to any of QR's lounges and I'm wondering if there is a specific time of day when the lounge is at it's best.

As for the visa, I do qualify for a VOA.

My first QR segment will be SIN - DOH, I have a choice of three fights and as the flight departure times are all different I'd like advice on what to expect onboard in J for this segment and if any one flight is better than the others. Onboard, I'm interested in food and beverages, a little IFE and a little rest.

These are the flights I have to choose from,

QR 945, dept, 2.25 am arr, 5.00 am
QR 943, dept, 10.40 am, arr 1.43 pm
QR 947, dept, 9.20 pm, arr, 11.35 pm. Obviously, the city tour won't be an option the day I arrive if I take QR 947 and can only be accommodated if my outbound flight departs late the following day.
