FA question

I just flew some longhaul QR segments. Every one of the FAs appeared to be no more than 30 years old and many much younger. And most (all?) were quite attractive and fit.

Does the airline get rid of them after a certain age or if they gain a few pounds? I can't imagine any other scenario when they ALL look like this.

Fantastic service, food, seat and lounges BTW. Nothing was too much trouble.

Agree with you on QR qualities. flew EY LOng haul last week, QR leads by a mile.

Yes they must have different employment practices, seen this on all three ME carriers.

Yes, once they turn 30, or at least appear to be, here is a picture of where they go.

An alternative view could be that QR employment practices may be less favourable than other airlines which might be OK if you just want a foot in the door and a chance to see the world.

Those looking for a long term career may move elsewhere.

The creepy guy from the safety video bites them, and then they never age again, although they do acquire a taste for human blood.

LOL

I liked the the guy from the last video. Apparently crew found the new video funny because the guy's appearance is totally out of crew grooming policy.

Most crew that I've chatted to joined QR looking for experience and to see the world, and usually plan to take what they've learned home again after a few years for other career prospects there.

:D

I also noticed (and this shows I fly WAY too much...) that the female cabin crew in the A380 safety video does not close the overhead storage bins in the same way as the actual cabin crew!! ;)

I spoke with one on my recent QR flight and this was the attitude she professed. She was in it to see the world a bit but, at 3 years in, was already a year more senior in the job than she initially expected to be.
