Which origins are spared security re-screening at HIA?

As many FTers use QR on transit, I just thought it could be useful to everyone if we could have a list of which origins are exempt from security re-screening at Hamad International and which are not.

I have been spared re-screening when arriving from LHR and FCO. Is it fair to say that most other EU origins are similarly exempt?

On the other hand, had to re-clear security ex-JNB.

What about USA, Australia, South East Asia, other Middle Eastern origins, etc?

Sadly no, have always been screened from ZRH, also from MXP. Will try BRU next, we'll see how that goes.

I was not re-screened from CPH or HKG back in June when it first opened, but haven't been back through since.

It seems a bit harder to figure out than I thought! On second thought, though, when I didn't have to reclear, we arrived pretty much at the same place as when we had to and it is just that the security people just waived us through. In fact, from FCO (no screening), it was even a bus gate, in a which took us to an exactly similar place as the bus gat we had from JNB (re-screening). I am starting to wonder if there IS a rule!

I'm guessing that it depends on how long the queues are. If there are too many people, they let "safe" arrivals through without recheck, if not, all have to be screened. I can't imagine them letting people through at will from nations with more than questionable screening standards (independent of the actual effectiveness of security screenings, that would be another discussion).

Only once exempted on all my transits. And that was from DXB.
I would expect it to happen arriving from the EU or the US?

One thing about Qatar is consistent inconsistency...

They all generally tend to agree that most of their flights goes either to or from Doha, but there is goes kinda downhill.

Had to re-clear inbound from BKK and then on the return from DWC recently.

Also had to re-clear in the summer on return from LHR.

Re-screening from BCN last July.

I was screened whilst in transit arriving from LHR recently, but it wasn't really worth their bother, very very sloppy, missed a bottle of water in my carryon. Which was there by mistake. The guys watching the screen were more interested in chatting to each other, mind you much the same as any other Mid East airport.

From LHR, I've always been screened coming back on the QR4 (380) but never on the QR16 (319). Go figure...

It probably depends on the time of the day too. I've seen the transit area hugely busy at around 6:00 in the morning (always freckin get dropped off at remote gates at this time too!) so maybe there's more incentive then to allow people through without making them go to transit.
