YES. The issue I have with the new seats is that leg space is quite restricted when reclining but in row 1 the leg space is massive in comparison. (by leg space i mean the space under the tv screen)

A7-AEB, the A330-300 with angled seats in business is flying again, though this shouldn't be for long. The Qatar Source mistakingly said it has been reconfigured to 36J/223Y, but that is actually the old configuration with F class being sold as J.

I am looking at booking QR1336 from NBO to DOH in October. I noticed the Nairobi to Doha route as never been serviced by a A330-200 on a daily basis but staring in October they have this single flight as an A332 whereby all the others are still A320 with recliners.

So my question is what are the chances that QR sticks with this equipment and actually flys QR1336 in October with this (or any other) lie flat seat?

Many thanks in advance!

I wouldn't bank on this being certain. It could be for cargo reasons or passenger demand.

However, with it being QR it could be subbed for another aircraft at any point and possibly multiple times before departure. 6/7 months is a long time for QR in regards to scheduling at a time with aircraft delivery delays and cabin refits taking place.

Hi
Long time lurker, first time poster. Thanks to all for making this community so valuable !
I will be flying JFK-DOH-SIN (stop) SIN-DOH-LOS all in J next week. I see on the seat map that the DOH-LOS segment will be A7-AEB. Seat map shows F and J seat with all F seat marked occupied. Do you think those seats are on a first come first served basis or calling QR may help to grab one ?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts in this!

floco welcome to FlyerTalk and especially the QR forum. As you may have already discovered the dashboard is a useful tool when exploring the forum.

If the F seats are to be released then it will be when airport check-in starts. Then it is a case of first come first served.

I say IF because QR may not wish to have the 'extra' cabin crew onboard to service the F cabin. This is especially true if the J cabin has seats available.

I haven't seen A7-AEB being active for about 2 weeks

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/A7AEB/history

Last flight was on the 30th of April

The Lagos flight it is supposedly dedicated for seems to be using A7-AEA/C/E/G/H or once in a while an A332.

Dunno about A7-AEB being retired or if the inside is being renovated.

It was supposed to be retired, either the lease was extended or the aircraft was purchased. It is now showing as 333K in the system which would indicate that it has been refurbished.

For FleyeSkyHigh:
I did DOH>NBO on 4/14. It was an old a320 with limited recline in Business.

Took QR 1336 NBO>DOH on 4/28(which is the one you mentioned) and it was the really nice new a320 with lie flat seats in Biz. I was pleasantly surprised after the other flight in Biz.
No idea if this is now standard or not to have the new plane.
Amenity kit was the cloth one-kind of pretty but not useful. No slippers provided.
Hope this is helpful

Thanks!

Yes, it looks like since around the begining of May Qatar has been operating the new lie flat a320s on either QR 1336 or QR 1442 depending on the day. See: http://www.theqatarsource.com/qatara...tetracker.html

Starting later this year it shows QR 1336 going to an A332 so maybe this is a lead up to that...

Thanks for the info!

I wonder if this was a strategic decision due to the delays in new aircraft arrivals.

Atleast flying from Lagos to Singapore has no A330 lottery anymore.
