Thanks for the experience summary @anabolism! I understand that the seat is relatively undesirable, but how would you compare it to the existing 787-8/A359 reverse herringbone seats? An improvement or nah?

I'd say the new Business Suite is worse, because it has significantly less space, and no storage. That might be worth the trade-off if the seat offered privacy but it doesn't. One thing I forgot to mention is that the doors don't even close flush, there's a gap.

oh wow that's truly a pity. sad to hear that the doors are now just a useless gimmick.

What a shame that the Qatar source is down - the website has now clearly a 'different' offering...

All 787-9s that were flying for cargo are now fitted with business suites and operating pax flights with the last A7-BHG entering service yesterday. That makes seven 787-9s in service. Still no wifi onboard unfortunately!

Are they still proceeding with the remaining Q Suite conversions on the 77W and 77L? There seem to be a few of the old ones still flying around.

I think these ones are actually being used as cargo aircraft

How bad are the seats on the non-QSuite 777's? I need to fly OKC-DMM from the US next month. I can find the flight on an A350 outbound, but I only find 777 on the return. Not sure why, mind you.

I had an equipment swap last minute once on a 777 to the US. It's not ideal, and compared to the Qsuite it's a real let down. The biggest problem with the old J is not having all aisle access, and having to possibly wake or bother your seatmate when they are in bed mode and you want to get out. If you end up having to take a non-Qsuite 777, definitely sit in the center seats so you can have aisle access. That being said, I can think of worst business class seats.

I am looking at booking a flight in J from KUL in December and was surprised to see that there are still 77Ws with the old configuration. I assumed after all of this time that they would all have Qsuites.

Are these planes not going to be refurbished or are they just still working through them?

Seconded, but for a flight in January, entry allowing.

thirded, flying KUL-DOH in Jan and saw that the 8pm flight has the 2-2-2 configuration. I actually prefer this over the reverse herringbone but mistakenly booked it thinking it had qsuite. apparently only the 2.45am one has qsuite?

Your preference of 2-2-2 over 1-2-1 RH is why? You must have a traverlling companion I assume. 2-2-2 is horrible if travelling alone.

I am forgetting the overall debate on Q Suites on a 777 Vs. A350..

Is it basically the A350 is obviously newer, has the tail cam & is quieter

And the 777 has slightly larger aisles, 1 more lav for J than the A350 does and has overhead bins in the center (i dont get why a lot of bloggers say No bins in the center is a plus, i hate sharing if i dont have to)

Are there any other pluses/minuses in the 777 VS. A350 debate for Q Suites?

I cant get to LA on the A350-1 and need to choose going home to SF on a A359 or DFW on a 77L or ORD on a 77L. Hoping LA will open for my date but just curious whats really better between the 777 or A350.

Also, just want to confirm either option does have individual air nozzles?

Thx
