The fleet type codes such as 77P or 77J are what can be used to identify the type of aircraft under "Check Routing" on www.qrcargo.com. The aircraft type on QR Cargo is fairly accurate if you search for a flight within the current calendar month. Note that the codes A332H cover both the refurbished and non-refurbished A330s.

And a new A350, A7-ALP, has joined the fleet today. I wonder if it already has the new suite...

I'm guessing it doesn't have the Qsuites.

justatourist since seat numbers are supposed to be unchanged there is no way of knowing if it is the old seats or Q-suites.

gav0106 that is hardly surprising since there are no known plans to retrofit the A330s with Qsuites

There is now. A7-ALP did its first return trip to ADL and no mention of it being equipped with Q-Suites. Seems like poor planing if they take delivery of a A350 with the old product weeks before the EIS of the Q-Suites and months after presenting the Q-Suites to the public.

That said, I would imagine that the A350 will be the last to receive the upgrade. The 777s will probably be priority #1 and retrofits of A350 will be the last to be done.

I don't think that it is much of a loss. The QR A350s are IMO very good and a relatively recent product.

I also think it is weird to receive brand new A359s without the new cabin. Not only that but things only started to move again in TLS for the delayed planes after QR announced the new Q Suite (?).

But as jbflyboy84 mentioned in another post, there are no plans to retrofit or receive A359s with the Q Suite but for A35Ks it is a different story so there's clearly some kind of logic behind this (I would love to pick the brain of some one in fleet management making these decisions).

As I see it, the current plan is to have a standardized business cabin in A359s and 787s for ULH and thin routes and a premium business cabin (Q Suites) in A35Ks and 777 for high yield and high volume routes.

At least the hard product would be somewhat consistent. Kinda, there's still a couple of odd balls in the fleet that don't fit in this simple setup (A380 for example)...

Hi remdk. Hope you well. I thought all A330's had been fitted with newer flat beds. Seems I got the only one still the old angle flat in the old colours. Fine for day flight

gav0106 we have a bit of a mystery here since according to the Wiki on this thread the aircraft in question has the exact same seats as all but one of the B777 fleet. It has had them since its refurbishment some years ago. It certainly had them in November 2015.

The last sloping seat A330, the three class A330-300, A7-AEB, has just been refurbished. So there should be no sloping seat widebodied aircraft in the fleet.

So a mystery that needs solving!

A7-ACE is refurbished, it has BE Minipod seats which are the same as the old angled flat seats just with more leg room and newer IFE. The same setup as on the 777. It actually has more room and is wider and longer than the more modern BE Diamond seat on the newer refurbished aircraft.

This is how the seat on ACE looks like.

https://thedesignair.files.wordpress...0bizseat1.jpeg

It is slightly angled (single digit degrees) just like the 777, but the aircraft flies with a slight nose up altitude.

Thank you N1Rotate for your post.. It solves what appeared to be a mystery.

On another matter whend do you expect to see A350-900 and A350-1000s with the new Qsuites?

The A350-1000 will be delivered with the Qsuite. It will also have other minor upgrades to the onboard products.

With regards to the A350-900, I have no information but based on experience I can say the following:

- MSN69 (the one just delivered), MSN63 and MSN76 were all due to be delivered last year before the Qsuite introduction, therefore they would have the BE Super Diamond contracted for them and would be past deadlines for interior modifications. Typical highly customised business class products would have about a 2 year lead time.

- The new seat needs to be certified on each individual aircraft type, e.g. it could be certified on the 777 but not yet on the A359.

- A new seat, especially a highly customised one like the Qsuite will have a very slow production ramp up and initially there are typically high rejection rates for defects due to the production learning curve at both the component suppliers and the seat manufacturer. Another reason for the slow production ramp up is that there are sometimes re-designs of components to fix issues discovered after introduction to service. QR might have prioritised the 777 considering it has the most out of date product.

It could be any of the above, a combination of the factors or I could be way off
