Have done HEL - DOH - HEL in J twice in A320 and once A350.

More than happy with the service and also managed to sleep if in need.
As the J is small just 3 rows feel getting personal attention from FA.

Even with full 12 in J the service do not feel rushed. Also IFE has worked fine.
I prefer the aisle seat.

Next trips in February and May also will be A320 as the B787 coming later
to replace the smaller A320.

I am on the A320 flight as well and currently have a Window seat (I always get a window seat on 99% of flights) - how do you guys find the access (having to step over your neighbour to get to the aisle)?

I flew the aircraft earlier this week. If the person next to you has the seat in the bed position you will have to step over them... but if they're sat up it's just about okay to walk past them.

To cut it short, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Lovely aircraft and you wouldn't know you're on a narrowbody.

By launched, do you mean they uncover it, or they will be installed/ready to go in certain aircraft?
What aircraft are due to receive the J seat first?

It will be just an unveiling, with probably more details on roll-out plans as well as other product enhancements. The aircraft will be flying later in the summer and the roll-out should be quick as there will be many new aircraft deliveries with the new seats in addition to the refurbishment of existing aircraft.

Given that plenty of us are going to Tokyo next year, and being an aircraft enthusiast, I'm also curious about this. Currently Qatar has the following routes and planes for Tokyo:

QR806/QR807 - DOH-HND - 787-8
QR812/QR813 - DOH-NRT - 77L

But from the latest news it appears DOH-HND will be up-gauged to an A350 next July.

But what about the 77L and the NRT route? With the new route to Las Vegas in JAN18 and no new 77L deliveries they will have to get a plane from somewhere, so maybe NRT? However looking at the pax numbers each aircraft carries there are a couple of problems:
- 77L has a big number of J pax;
- A350 has 36J (6 less) and 247Y (30 more).

So, is there enough Y demand to increase both routes to an A350? This would make a total of 72J vs the current 64J.
Or if not enough demand, down-gauge it to a 787-8? Total of 58J.

Maybe someone with more knowledge on this can chime in.

Does anyone know which version of the A320 is used to fly to Larnaca, Cyprus?

Potentially booking a return flight for the summer and wondering if it is worth using miles to upgrade one leg, or both. If its the old business layout I probably wont bother.

I am confused, because QR's website doesn't show the same configurations for the A330-200 as is shown here and on theqatarsource.com.

I believe QR's website is out of date?

Flying DOH-KUL on 26/3 on an A330-200 and would like to know if it's going to be one of those with full flat beds or one with lie-flat seats (170 degree recline). I'm also confused because the information in the wiki is not the same as in post #1.

Wiki:

332H v1: horizontal J B/E MiniPod seat in 2-2-2, similar to 777 seat. WiFi. A7-ACA,B,C,D,E,F,H. To distinguish from other A332, economy goes up to row 41 and split business cabin 3 rows ahead of galley and 1 row behind.
332H v2: horizontal J, B/E Diamond seat in 2-2-2 config.. A7-ACG,I,J,K,L,M

Ben_W during the last month Larnaca has been serviced by A320s with cradle seats in J. About half of the flights had no IFE. All aircraft had 12 J but either 120 or 132 Y seats.

florens hardly surprising that it is the QR site that is out of date. And it is! Since many other sites use the QR information they are also out of date.

It's funny how people pretend to say that Business class seats on narrow body aircrafts (A319-320-321, B737s) on flight more than 5:30 hours give the same comforts as on the widebody, it is not, period.
Stop defending the airlines for the lame excuse of flying those small birds mid to almost-long haul. Fly larger planes please, if you can't fill it, try harder!!
