QR J menus 2014 - 2015
Qatar Airways Business Class menus 2014 - 2015
FTers (including myself) do this kind of posting quite regularly in the other forums so I thought I should try to get the ball rolling in this forum.
The intention is to offer current and future QR flyers a glimpse of QR Culinary World Menu which is created in partnership with four celebrity chefs: Tom Aikens, Ramzi Choueiri, Nobu Matsuhisa and Vineet Bhatia.
For those of you who has experienced QR culinary journey in the sky, hopefully you're willing to share your experience by adding your own posting to this thread. There are fellow FTers who will find this sort of information useful.

Some of the Premium Terminal fare... the quality/taste was very good. Perhaps the best bit though about the premium terminal is how it feels more like an oasis of calm, the very high staffing levels, and also the quality of finish on all the materials.
A340-600 (A7-AGB), my personal favourite aircraft type in QR's fleet (though I'm sure it's not Qatar's, given how often I see an A346 in the maintenance hangar, which is just about every time I'm going through Doha). The J cabin is just sooo long in this aircraft.
Nice touch, thank you Qatar.
Signature mint cooler. Nice, but far from the best I've had.
Others went for the OJ and champagne (?) which is usually a good option.
Laban. My first time trying it IIRC, and the stewardess even questioned whether I was sure I would like it (she was just trying to be thoughtful rather than annoying though). While it is slightly sour, this appeared to be a good example, with a smooth vanilla taste and a pleasant colour and texture.
Muesli and bakery basket. Croissant was a bit crushed - it was basically the same decent quality warm one they used to serve back in Y class. Muesli was of good quality.
Arabic breakfast plate... it appeared to not meet the specification though, as I'm sure that was cold halloumi rather than shanklish being served to me. Also, presentation could have been a little improved.
Moussabah (hummus-like dish) and cheese manakish (somewhat like a cheese-topped naan). I'm not really familiar with this dish so it's hard to comment on the quality.

Shrimp empanada... nothing to write home about, but the andalusian sauce had a nice flavour.
Sorry for the bad image quality here. This is the "indulgence menu" seasonal (seasonal is quite amusing on a ME airline) fruit platter, and was actually the best part of the meal service. All of the fruits were unbelievably fresh and delicious, especially the mango and blueberries. There was also strawberry, kiwi, and fig.
Mmm, freshly baked chocolate-chip cookies. Slightly overdone, but that doesn't bother me

Some of the Premium Terminal fare... the quality/taste was very good. Perhaps the best bit though about the premium terminal is how it feels more like an oasis of calm, the very high staffing levels, and also the quality of finish on all the materials.
A340-600 (A7-AGB), my personal favourite aircraft type in QR's fleet (though I'm sure it's not Qatar's, given how often I see an A346 in the maintenance hangar, which is just about every time I'm going through Doha). The J cabin is just sooo long in this aircraft.

Signature mint cooler. Nice, but far from the best I've had.
Others went for the OJ and champagne (?) which is usually a good option.
Laban. My first time trying it IIRC, and the stewardess even questioned whether I was sure I would like it (she was just trying to be thoughtful rather than annoying though). While it is slightly sour, this appeared to be a good example, with a smooth vanilla taste and a pleasant colour and texture.
Muesli and bakery basket. Croissant was a bit crushed - it was basically the same decent quality warm one they used to serve back in Y class. Muesli was of good quality.
Arabic breakfast plate... it appeared to not meet the specification though, as I'm sure that was cold halloumi rather than shanklish being served to me. Also, presentation could have been a little improved.
Moussabah (hummus-like dish) and cheese manakish (somewhat like a cheese-topped naan). I'm not really familiar with this dish so it's hard to comment on the quality.
