Qatar Airways new A380 First Class - any update?

QR is being super secretive about it... Any leaks anywhere?

I could only find that it would have "8 super-luxe suites", and that "It is understood that the First Class Suites will rival those of QR’s nearest competitors, if not outdo them"

And apparently, "both Business and Economy will put to shame the crammed environment many other airlines using the A380 subject their passengers to."

Somehow I can't see anything other than the standard economy configuration being installed though.

Edit: also found this info:
"More details will follow soon, but in the meantime we can confirm that the 517-seat aircraft will feature 457 Recaro CL3620 economy seats, 52 B/E Aerospace Super Diamond business seats, and eight first-class seats. The first-class seats will be of an all-new design, and will be located at the front of the lower deck, together with an exclusive lounge area. Business passengers will also benefit from a lounge area on the upper deck. To the rear of the business cabins, there will be a small economy area, similar to the layout of Malaysia's A380."

I like that they are doing an upper economy like MH, as I like the 2-4-2 config. Seems maybe a bit disappointing about the business seats if you want to travel with a companion though (?) but I haven't tried them on the 787 so guess I can't comment. Apparently the CL3620s are the same seats (hopefully wider though!) as used on the 787s and A320s...

I can't imagine how they could improve the currently excellent business class. First class... only 8 seats... that could be grand!

If true these would probably be the same seats as QR offer in business class on the 787.

When will the A380 enter service with QR? I understand they'll fly to London, where else?

I think this layout in this video is pretty close on the cabin you will see on Qatar's new A380. http://www.a380love.com/#chapter2

I don't like what I see so far. My predictions of no enclosed suites turned out right, while I do like the open feel I know that many locals who fly first class to London and Paris value the enclosed cabins.

Also, I am surprised about the colour choices for the seats in Business and Economy. Why have different colour seats in business? it looks out of place and tacky in my opinion. Why not a unified look like the 787? Same in economy, the colours are not consistent with the 787.

My eyes must be playing up, I can only see 4 abreast in the Business cabin?

Looks nice enough without being outstanding to me.

Very classy in all 3 cabins... shame I'll never be trying out F!

Not sure about the faded red colour in Y.

I'll give it a try, but it'll take an improvement in food/beverages and better treatment of their employees to keep me flying with them.
