Hi Guys,
QR newbie again! I got myself one of those fares exHEL to DXB via DOH for 400TPs which I am happy about and I just have a few questions:
DOH-DXB is on an A346 - my etkt says "First" but the seat map only shows 4 rows (2-2-2 layout). Checked QR website for the seat map and rows 1-2 are F seat and 3-9 are J seats. Anyone able to help me understand why the website booking shows only 4 rows (from row 1 to row 4) ?!
On the outbound I have 9 hours to connect (arriving at 5pm and departing 2am+1) just wanted to confirm having a UK passport means I can get a visa on arrival and leave the airport - not sure whether there is a minimum time before I am allowed to land my self during a transit.
Thanks again!

angeloedades I am not surprised that you are confused. DOH-DXB has no Business Class just First and Economy. The usual Business class cabin is dedicated as a First cabin.
My understanding of the aircraft is that rows 1 and 2 are not used normally. The fact thatthe seat map for your flight shows a 2-2-2 configuration confirms this since Rows 1 and 2 are 1-2-1.
If you look at https://www.moi.gov.qa/site/english/...748/748.html#2 you will see that UK passports qualify for Visa on arrival.

It is annoying that information on the website itself is wrong but I shall live. Thanks for the clarification, I thought it was going to be a J seat sold as F. I have the 788 on the return and was surprised it was booked as first but then I remembered, QR 788s do not have F, its J sold as F.
Glad someone was able to confirm the visa on arrival bit (I just had to make it doubly sure that I was reading it correctly). Now I can plan that dinner with my friend who lives in Doha!
EDIT: Just reading the QR lounge at HIA thread - connecting to QR F (regional) for DOH-DXB, I get access to Al Safwa (according to this post) but for DXB-DOH in QR F then to HEL in J - do I still get access?

angeloedades you will not have access to Al Safwa on your return.
The rules for access to Al Safwa are very simple: You have access if you are departing DOH in F. There is one exception to this simple rule in that if you arrive in longhaul (over 5 hours) F you will have access no matter the class of your onward flight. The same also applies to Business Class and Al Mourjan.

diego454 in Al mourjan lounge there are rest pods that are available on a first come first served basis.
Al Mourjan has two different dining areas both of which are open 24/7.
The wiki on http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...l#post27161034 and the page http://www.qatarairways.com/dk/en/lo...l-mourjan.page give all this information and more.

Thank you for your reply remake,
I have a technical question;
We fly london-helsinki-doh-phuket.
Actually we flight london-helsinki we spend 1,5 day in helsinki to discover the city; and when we fly back, we have 4 hours to wait to take our finnair flight to London.
Finnair offer to access the lounge for a charge, i just wonder if QR will give us a coupon for the lounge at arrival, and if we can use it to wait our flight to london ?
thank you
Edit : A more technical question; i have 320 tier point on my BA account which give me the ruby status, we flight Helsink-Phuket in J, so i expect to get 280 TP for this flight.
So technically, when i ll fly back to helsinki i ll have the Saphire status and hence complimentary access to the lounge. But i wonder if 1 week will be enough to see my TP on my BA account knowing i fly with QR. And also how to prove i m Saphire i ll have no card to show.
Thank you

diego454 are the Finnair flights on the same ticket as the QR flights?
Arrival lounges are not part of Oneworld so you would not qualify for lounge access in HEL on separate tickets.
You will not become OWS until sufficient TPs are registered in your BA account. Airlines exchange flight information regularly, but not usually daily, and I think it normally takes 7-14 days for your points to be registered. The proof of status that airlines use is the status printed on your boarding pass.

Thank you remdk,
Another question, we have 7 hours stopover in DOH, from midnight to 7am.
We would like to enjoy the lounge a bit, plus all friction time, let say we'll have 5 hours to kill, do you think it could be profitable to book a room at the airport hotel. 200GBP for 5 hours seems a bit expensive to me.
Would it be possible to get off the plane, go to the hotel within 15 mn, then wake up 1 hour before departure to enjoy the lounge for breakfast ? Would mean at least 5 hours of sleep
Thank you

diego454 I really can not tell you if the Airport hotel will be profitable for you or not. Only you can! There are rest pods in Al Mourjan that you may be able to obtain, but there is also a chance that you may be out of luck.
I very much doubt you can get from plane to hotel in 15 minutes unless you are very lucky indeed.
Waking up one hour before departure will almost certainly mean that you will have to go directly to the gate with no breakfast. You need to allow twenty minutes to reach your departure gate and the gate closes 20 minutes before departure. Breakfast is probably the busiest time of day for the resturants so some waiting time should be expected.
