Connection time in Doha

Hi!

I´m flying from CPH to DXB Feb. next year and i wonder if 55 min is enough time to change aircraft? Only traveling with hand luggage so no bags to reload. Flying business class so we leave the plane among the first. Normally it should be ok otherwise QR wouldn't let me book it or?? Last time in Doha they started the boarding 1 h before takeoff but this time we are still in the air when they board.
Do i have to go trough security and premium terminal or they can take me directly to my connecting flight to DXB?

Hey there,

One hour is the minimum legal connecting time for Doha :)

Glad this topic came up! First time through Doha next week, what are my chances of making a 75min connection (QR012 to QR888) with a checked bag? Or should I plan to take carry on only? I'm travelling business class so will that help at all? All words of wisdom appreciated!

I don't think this is correct. The QR web page is offering me connections for ORD-CCU (next summer) with 45 min in DOH, so it must be a legal connection. I believe that is in fact exactly the MCT (45 min).

Whether such tight connections are a smart idea is a different question. A friend recently flew CDG-CCU with a similarly tight connection and had to stay 24 hours in DOH, which is not any fun. How often do such problems occur?

As others said, I think it is OK in regards to the MCT. But the CPH flight is remote stand, and the PT is the last stop on the bus, so just the bus ride may take 20 minutes. But I don't think they will transport you from flight to flight directly, so you will go to PT, through security and then directly board the bus again...

If no delays it probably will work out just fine! But in case of delay QR hopefully rebook me on the next flight or? I'm only going to DXB and they traffic that route frequently I think.

No idea of what you mean by 'legal', but this is from the QR website;

http://support.qatarairways.com/entr...necting-flight

In summary, 45 mins.

Yes, they will re-book you. They will take care of you.

If in business class, I would not worry. Even if you miss your first flight, they have flights every 1-2 hours to DXB, you would enjoy more the Premium Terminal...
The J bus only makes 2 stops, and it never took more than 12 minutes for me from aircraft to PT.

We returned from the UK last week via Doha and supposedly had 1 hour between connecting flights but only had 15 minutes in the PT due to our flight being late. This was a disappointment as I had been looking forward to spending a little more time there to experience the PT. In fact the PT was so full at midnight that we had difficulty in finding a seat so the short connections actually work in Qatar's favour by reducing numbers. Yes, you go through security again and the bus took only about 5 minutes from plane to PT as we were first stop.

CPH flights do no always park at Bay East. Last Monday the flight parked next to the termnal, first bus stop was PT and the bus trip took less than 5 mins.

Until NDIA opens next year ALL flights are parked at remore stands.

Incidentally, the MCT can be considerably less than 45 minutes but I think they have to trust the airport you've come from, from a security perspective. My flight from MAN was 45 minutes late this morning, with a lot of very worried passengers and the bus simply dropped us of at a door just past security and I walked straight to my gate.

The MCT is the minimum scheduled connecting time, below which a ticket cannot be issued. It cannot be less than 45 minutes.
