Happy to report BEY QR lounge is open. Only passengers travelling with QR are allowed, but otherwise standard *o access rules apply (emerald or sapphire +1). Agents distribute lounge invitations at check in, but those are not really required: lounge dragons scan BP to check eligibility.

Which Business Lounge in Sydney

Hi
could someone please confirm which lounge I can use in Sydney when flying J with Qatar?
the Oneworld site says the Qantas lounge is shut but the Qantas site says it’s open.
I’ve also heard rumours about using the Air New Zealand lounge but Qatar can’t confirm this on chat
cheers!

You can use the Qantas one as per OneWorld rules.

With the proviso as I understand, that the lounge is open until the last QF of the day. In my case on Friday September 16, there is a QF departure to LAX that leaves after the QR.

I use an app called Flightboard which only shows current day info as does Sydney Airport website. You are looking for QF flights departing from T1...ie the international terminal. You can also try dummy bookings on QF on the day you intend to travel. Latest departures tend to be LAX, AKL as well as Japan

Don't get too excited about the Qantas International Business lounge. Its in a poor state.

Qantas announced prior to COVID that they were going to renovate it and of course that hasn't happened

For Australia's national airline in Australia's busiest airport its abysmal

I haven't been to it since two visits in 2016 and 2017 but it's disappointing to hear it's still a substandard lounge. I remember at the time being surprised at its poor state.

QR/ba lounge phl

I had asked a while ago about the BA lounge in PHL which is also used by QR. it is indeed open but it closes at 2000 and there’s a large PHL-DOH flight at 2130.

the lounge is fairly small. When I was there it was a hot summer day and the ac wasn’t keeping up. Snacks were minimal. There was a small buffet that I don’t remember too well. I don’t recall hot meal type of things. There were sandwiches and hummus but I didn’t see pita. Ok booze selection. Better than regular admirals club but nothing to write home about.

that’s a real shame. I’m still holding out hope that flying Qatar I can use the Air NZ lounge. Can anyone confirm the rumours?

Flew Qatar in J from Adelaide to Doha on Sunday 7/8/2022 …wasn’t allowed into Qantas business lounge and instead we were provided with a $40 voucher to use at the Penfolds bar …..
The Qantas Lounge was definitely open and no one gave us the reason for this situation…!
