Merging accounts?
 

Hi. I had an old QFF account but completely forgot it until recently. I since then have opened up a new account and am about to reach gold. Unfortunately 40 SC were posted onto the old account after I claimed a missing points. Anyone have any experience in getting their accounts merged? The current one that I use expires in April so I have plenty of time to reach Plat, but the old on expires at the end of the month so I don't want my current status merged into the old one. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

FYI: I was an overseas resident so it was free to open up both accounts.

Just to let you guys know, I ended up ringing up qantas and they were happy to merge the 2 accounts. They did say that they normally advise people to continue using the older account, but since I was collecting most of my points with the new account they closed my older one.
They brought over all the points, sc, and lifetime sc i got the best result I wanted.

My initial thoughts when I saw the thread yesterday was that you'd be asked to continue with the first account - but thankfully it has worked out in this case.
