Luggage allowance question

Hi

What I was wondering about was how the following would work with luggage allowance

flying mel-syd-scl

syd-scl on lan and in business luggage allowance three pieces 23 Kilo's each

now flying domestic economy mel-syd only 33 kilo's 23 plus 10kg for gold

now if I brought two tickets up to sydney would I be able

to carry 66 kilo's on the domestic leg up to sydney or only 56 kilo's 2* 23 plus 10

anyone had any experiences doing something similar

Hi there. Im not a profetional with this because im asking my self the very same question as you.

I do know that if your a frequent qantas flyer collector and your on gold card or something you are aloud to carry alittle extra free kilos on your luggage.

Or alternative when you take your luggage to the check in counter. You can not carry more then 23kilos but you can carry alittle more but that means they will charh you somewhat between 50 to 80.00AUD per kilo. so 1kilo per charge.

(the price is roughly extimate only) But it wont come cheap by all means and its not really worth getting extra kilos unless your lucky to be accepted over 23kilos for qantas frequent flayer card member.

edit: Sometimes if the luggage is overly heavier then the amount of waight you are aloud.. just take some cloths out and put it in plastic bags. When i travel i take a few plastic bags just incase that if i was to accidently carry over 23kilos they would charge me or take some items off the luggage. So thats a good handy thing to take with you if anything does go wrong depending what country you do visit. Because most country they let you carry on but some countries they do have restriction orders just like australia.

I know that the carry on bag ( the bag you take with you at all times on board you can carry something like 7kilos (kg) sometimes they will carry on with your luggage and sometimes the check in counter forgets to waight your carry on bag. This happen sometimes.. (smart tips: if you want to carry alittle extra waight on your carry on bag... well give that bag to your member of a relative behind you and dont meantion about the carry on bag just say your carrying this small camera bag....... so that when your all done you have got away without waighting your carry on bag. Thats what i actually do.. Not a good thing because when you land to another country or state and reutnr they have to waight it unless you do the same trip ive kiven. But please dont take my word on that as i dont want qantas aviation to end up paying extra fuel because of that.

I sometimes carry 12kilos on my carry on bag last time i went to melbourne and thats because they didnt even waighted my bag at all.. which was strange and she was quite nice to me and i just said im just carrying a small laptop under 7kilos. but i was carrying alittle then that :0 i know i did break the rules but shhh :) people does it sometimes. :)

Aniways someone here who knows more then i do for your questiosn will help you soon.
Good luck and let us know how you go.
sandra

Im not convinced that you will be able to circumvent the excess fees by buying a second ticket at all

I agree. At some point the "second" passenger will be a no show and their bags will offloaded.
