Changes to Qantas.com

Qantas have changed their flight look up for Qantas.com.

Previously it was under the "Plan" menu alongside "Timnetable" with Arrivals and Departures, but they have now put a "Flight Status" option under the "Fly" menu.

Biggest difference?

One can no longer look up all Qantas relevant departures or arrivals for an airport on a particular date using Qantas.com.

You can look up between origin-destination pairs.

It's a good thing that Flightstats provides this functionality.

While this is handy for tracking just 1 flight, I used to find it useful to look at ALL the dep or arr for an airport - gave one a sense of general issues/delays etc.

Lately I have found that the arr times posted on QF haven't been too accurate anyway. eg: a PER-MEL midnight arrival was posted as delayed 30 mins right up until it landed 10 mins early.

Biggest change I have noticed in the past couple of days has been the significant system downtime as I am trying to arrange to get all my Sales Managers to one place at one time.....

Yep, the Qantas Yoyo has had extensive usage over the past 2-3 days.

The all flights lookup was especially handy in NZ due to QF's on-time performance issues and the ease of deducing which a/c flies where next. Oh well, not an issue for much longer.

It looks as if they have reinstated the previous "arrivals" and "departures" pages under "Plan"..though as of a few minutes ago they were not working...

..and about 20 mins later it is all working as before!

I went in to SYD QF office today to get an idea about an award RTW I want to do and the agent was certain I could now book this on qantas.com direct saving QF booking fees.....came home couldnt find what I thought might be some of the "changes" to Qantas.com I read on this thread....seems nadda for RTW award bookings:rolleyes:

Also found that flight details now seem to be delayed when in the OLCI booking engine versus when on the main part of the QF website.

eg. Plane type shown as 737-8 in main QF website, but not available inside OLCI.

Well now it seems to have changed again to as per the OP. And here I was stupid enough to think maybe QF read this forum and take comments on board...

It doesn't take a JQ flight number either, even though it displays them when you put in city pairs.

Interestingly the JQ site shows "on the ground" and "into gate" times - this would be handy to have on the QF site.

I missed this. You simply emply the "Multi-City" option (https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/do/...startmulticity).

Oh well, as I posted; there's still Flightstats.
