First lounge access
Flying on LAN went to the Sydney first class lounge.
Doorman said, LAN always welcome. Desk clerk said have to be flying on the QF codeshare part of the flight. I said, LAN's a OneWorld partner & so access is available. Desk clerk insisted rules had recently changed. Supervisor said ok & that desk clerk is only human to excuse her trying to deny me entry. Basic training needed. |
Yes, often training is needed - it sometime is your duty to assist with this.
In situations like that Quiet, pleasant, determined persistence can be required. [Conjecture] Maybe Desk Clerk was confusing Lan with Air Pacific ... [/conjecture] |

Someone just got confused. I've used QF F lounge in SYD flying LAN many times (most recently a couple of days ago), as have other FTers. The only issue is if booked on LA flight number and do not have boarding pass you need to get it from transfer desk as the lounge cannot check you in, whereas on the QF flight number they can. Perhaps that is what confused the agent?

It's simply a lack of basic training. I know my entitlements, but get chagrined at having to assert them & ask for a supervisor, whilst being told insistently that I'm not welcome. C'mon, it just isn't good enough, by a long shot. |
I agree. I was just providing a possible reason why the agent may have been confused. Reason <> excuse in this case, imo.
