With the links in post 1 (from 2008) now being redundant due to aircraft changes and QF software changes the wiki has been established. Please add relevant information.

This is a useful thread for me, as I am travelling on QF long haul for the first time next year.
At the moment, I have a night sector on an A330 - 11EF and a day sector on an A380 1EF.
There seems to be general consensus that rows 2 and 12 respectively would be better in terms of space and reduced likelihood of galley / lounge disturbance.
I am keen on sleeping on the night flight, so want to reduce any possible noise. am less worried about noise (within reason!) on the daylight sector, although a loud party in the lounge would not be appreciated!
Any recent experience or comments, please? Thank you.
Really looking forward to trying QF LH as I have enjoyed the J between SYD and MEL.

Is 40C good seat on 747
Have an award ticket LAX-SYD on QF108 Feb 20, 2012. Have been allocated seat 40C...does anyone know if this seat has an issues. I've heard that often the curtain between coach and PE can sometimes hit the person sitting in that seat everytime someone goes by. I am hoping to upgrade to Business on that flight if something opens up closer to departure. Anyone know what the Business class availablity is on that flight?

Flying Y from SYD to DFW - QF7
Hi
I know this is probably not the best place to seek advise on economy seat selection however I don't have an employer or business (tax deductable) paying for my family's flights so am trying to make the most of what I can afford. Does anyone have any experience of the 2/4/2 at the rear end of cattle class? I currently have 71A/B, 71K/J and 70K/J booked. I am ok with being served meals last (the last two trips with J* to hawaii we took our own food on).
Thank you heaps in advance
Dee

I personally loved row 71AB KJ seats at the side, downside is the food service but you could order special meals. 70 is not so good as the seats only have space to your right so you cant stretch your legs out. Often someone in 70 will fill the space with their stuff limiting the legroom again.
If 72KJ is available instead of 70 i would opt for that.
Enjoy the the family holiday.

Thanks Walter82, unfortunately all the 2's seats up that end are all taken (6 of them by us) - so I am happy with what I have (my 2yr old and I scored 71a/b) and the rest of family isn't as bad as I am (they don't use the internet or know about seat guru) so fingers crossed they don't realise. I do however think its better then a 3-4-3 row.
PS - thanks for the hint about ordering special meals - I did for my son (child meal) and the diabetic one for my mum - I will go check out the other options.

(Really, I prefer the centre seats as no-one has to climb over anyone to access the aisle.)

a330-200 to BKK in J
Just re-did my seats for husband and myself to BKK in September. Out of the 747 and into the a330-200. Only seats unblocked going across are 4a &b and 6a & b. I have booked us into the bulkhead seats - 4a & b next to the galley. Neither choice seemed great. Any thoughts?
I guess we could get bumped for a couple with a baby?
Is it easier to get out of the window seat in the bulkhead seat? Has anyone experienced either of these seats in international?

Am a BA Emerald and booked QF005 Sin-Fra on a 744 in J.
Have read a lot here so just wanted to check my understanding is correct as I have availability in UD or in the pointy bit of lower deck:
seat is MkI meaning slanty flat bed?
Is this easy to climb over like BA CW?
seat is 195 cm? ( am 195 myself)
Seat has power? Which plug type?
I prefer window for privacy. Is 1a or 1k better than 11a or 11k upstairs?
Does bulkhead make it easier to climb out or give more leg space?
Many thanks for any help.
