Probably one of the more dramatic - and slightly misleading thread titles. Strictly correct, but still misleading.

May I suggest something like the thread on another Board may be more appropriate? : http://yssyforum.net/board/showthread.php?t=1947

I can't wait to fly on that bird, knowing it has been so well cared for at Avalon.

And not only that Ch. Ten Late News also showed footage of a QFLink (mentioned as operated by Sunstate - amazed the journos researched that much) that had smoke in the cabin.

Also had footage of the Avalon incident looked like a wingtip to nosecone collision.

Agree my OP was 'sensationalist' but I was just repeating the crap that was in the newspaper.

I have work colleagues here in London who this morning are refusing to take their families back to Sydney for Christmas on QF flights they are booked on if it cannot be confirmed that it won't be the Manila 747 (what is its rego?).

The Manila 744's rego is VH-OJK - but i would have thought that, out of the QF 744 fleet, it might just be the safest to fly in following repairs post-incident.

What about the rego of the other 744 that OJK collided with?

That position is actually grossly unsophisticated.

Will they also refuse to fly on VH-OJH as well?

And will they refuse to fly on which ever of the three ugly sisters had the crack near the tail?

And will they refuse to fly on the 717 that (IIRC) had the fire near the APU after some local maintenance people forgot to remove a rag during maintenance?

And will they refuse to fly on the 744 that burst a tyre, cracked a windshield, had electrical problems somewhere in the world etc etc blah blah?

Well I guess the "other" 744 was due to take QF93 today.

The 388 is being turned around in MEL (arriving as QF94) this morning to fly back to LAX, operating today's QF93 (it will then fly to SYD as Wednesday's QF12).

I doubt that was the case. It was VH-OJM is 4-class bird and would normally have been going north-west. Perhaps that is why VH-OEB is doing a kangaroo run this week.

If my memory serves me correctly, it was the a/c involved with the Bangkok incident in January?

OJM & OJK - 2 lucky (or unlucky rather) birds narrowly escaping the unimaginable...

Shhh they don't know about those, it is the Manila 747 that has got the media attention over here. And then there is the assumption that these things come in threes...
