Getting on flight on Dec. 28
 

Hi, I've never posted in this area before, but I'm not sure what to do. I'm travelling with my girlfriend from SIN to BNE over X-Mas break, and we long ago made a reservation with a travel agent in SIN. Turns out the agent "lost" the reservation, then lied about it, till my girlfriend asked to speak to the manager. The manager has promised to try to get a seat-- the last I heard was a flight on Garuda?! It would seem to me that we are entitled to a seat on Qantas, and it's the travel agent's problem as to how they sort this out. I"m not sure how to proceed at this point.

I understand that availability is a bit short travelling from SIN to BNE direct, but have you considered travelling through Melbourne or Sydney?

It'll add some time to the trip, granted, but you'll get there.

Alternatively, you could be waitlisted on the direct flight, and as OW Emerald, you'll be ahead of the majority (CL and WP rank higher).

I'd personally stop dealing with the offending travel agent, and deal with some one competent.

There are at least 9 "N" class seats SYD-BNE. "N" is the cheapest fare on QF, and earns AA miles too. You can book this direct on www.qantas.com.sg , or a decent travel agent (the earlier suggestion to get another one seems very good in this case) will find it for you.

Most other airlines have seats on that day as well. The only reason to fly Garuda is price - they don't do SIN-BNE direct.
