QFF Service

My travel agent neglected to add my FF details to my reservation for my trip ti SYD this week, so when I checked-in using the Quick Check kiosk in Brisbane there was record of my FF# on my boarding pass. I still had a good seat alloctated and access to QP using my WP card, so I figured I would just send the details off to QFF later to have it added.

So yesterday I took thadocta's suggestion and scanned my BP and emailed it to [email protected]. This morning I received a phone call from QFF saying they had posted my flight details as requested. Not only did they action this in less than 24 hours, but followed up with a phone call to let me know it had been done and was there anything else they could assist with. I was impressed.

This TA oversight actually worked to my favour since the outbound flight was in September and the return was in October, and my membership year rolled over on 30th September. So now I get both flights credited to this year's SC earnings rather than one being in last year and going down the gurgler as far as status is concerned since my WP status had already been renewed for next 12 months (again thanks QFF).

So I can certainly second thadocta's suggestion of scanning and emailing BP's rather than just faxing. Certainly resulted in a quick response for me.

Now that's a useful bit of information. How many FF's will "forget" to put their FF number on a reservation in the just before the membership year ends. Am sure no one who reads this forum would even consider doing this.

I'll add a "me too" here. Took more than 24 hours, but as it was a BA flight from LHR to IAD (i.e. not a QF codeshare) I'm not surprised. (Mind you, my QF FF number was clearly on the boarding pass so it should have happened automatically, but after waiting 3 months I figured some intervention was required.)

I received a nice acknowledgement e-mail on the day I sent it, then a confirmation e-mail six days later to say the points and SCs had been posted. Too easy!

I wish I could take the credit for planning this little workaround. But alas it was completely the TA's fault! New company doing the corporate reservations now and they just missed it in my profile that they inherited from the previous TA's.

I got to the Quick Check kiosk and slotted in my WP card and nothing showing. So I slotted in the Diners Club card and up it came.

Didn't even realise about the benefits of delaying the posting until after it had happened. Just shows on-the-ball I am these days, doesn't it! Must be the result of 3 months touring rather than working.

You can also play this game when the system breaks down and doesn't post points that you're entitled to, eg when you've done an upgrade with points/credits (which has happened to me several times now). Scan the ticket and BP now, save the image file for e-mailing later. The wonders of technology.

Can't say my experience is as good... My points for Concorde didn't post because of confusion over the fare class used [as brought up elsewhere on this board]. The initial email came back within a few days saying that the matter would be referred to BA but it took about a month for anything to post, with no email confirmation.

Ironically, I've experienced better follow-up/fulfillment when I was a lowly silver.

Thank you for this piece of advise, I have 1 flight that wasn't credited and another member of the family has 2 flights that didn't credit. I haven't had the time to ring them up. This way is much easier. Thanks NM and THADOCTA
