QF codeshare on Jetstar Flight
Have a friend on an extensive USA itinerary and flying JQ HNLSYD on QF codeshare.
Does anyone know what service is provided to these passengers with regard to meals, IFE, etc....do they have to pay for these items? If so, can they prepay as the booking is through the travel agent not via JQ website. |
My understanding is if you're flying on the QF flight number operated by JQ, then food is included. I think you also get the blanket, but not the full comfort pack you can purchase (or so it seemed last flight I took, though I was slightly blind from the FLounge). I do believe you get the useless Personal IFE thang, but I can't swear to that. I searched on both QF and JQ's sites and couldnt find it, which is weird because I remember reading something there about it a while ago...

International Long Haul Services
Two inflight meal services (one for a shorter flight to DPS) are provided for commercial Qantas codeshare customers as well as all non-alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. Each passenger is also provided with a complimentary bottle of water. Any additional refreshments and drinks are available for purchase. Qantas codeshare customers are also provided with a headset for viewing the overhead video screen and audio as well as a complimentary blanket however, Qantas codeshare passengers are not provided with the whole blanket pack. |

If it is an award flight, you get this:
On International Economy Award flights operated by Jetstar, food, beverages, amenity kits (blanket, neck support, eyeshade and socks) and Video On Demand units are not included. These items may be purchased inflight subject to availability. Alternatively, you may pre-purchase and confirm these items by calling Jetstar Telephone Reservations on 13 15 38 at least 24 hours before your flight, and quote your Qantas booking reference number. |

The problem they had is that they assumed they were on a QF flight because of the flight number and so would have food and entertainment. No such luck for them (2 adults and 2 children < 6 years old). |
They should just use the JQ code for FF Awards now that they have stopped providing the food etc.
It would certainly help avoid any confusion |
