Help - First Time QF Flyer
 

Flying on an Award in First Class - LAX-SYD-AKL next month... A 747-400 to SYD and then a 747-300 (?) to AKL... Any suggestions for good seats for a party of two? 2EF and 12AB reserved on flights, respectively.
How about the lounge for First Class at LAX? How about in SYD? Any showers before we make our connection?
Any and all QF advice is appreciated! Trying to burn my USAir miles while they are still around! Thanks!

The LAX lounge is a disappointment. SYD lounge is great and offers shower facilities - just ask at the desk.
Your assigned seats are very good.

With abit of luck you may fly on a new 744ER. QF will have 4 in service by the time of your trip. They are using these on the SYD & MEL to LAX runs.

If not you should get one of the newly refurbished 744's with the new IFE and decor.

However there will still be approx 3-4 744's out of the fleet of 28 which will not have had the upgrade. Hope you don't get one.
