The value of 50K in Qantas...
I read on another thread that Starwood is doubling the transfer to Qantas until 12/31/02. I can manage the 20K + 5K bonus from Starwood to Qantas but is it worth it?

Probably the absolute best use of Starwood points right now (since for that 20,000 points you can have two domestic American tickets anywhere they fly). Sounds like a good deal to me!

Ok...I pasted the info from that link.
What I am interested in is a trip to Okinawa, Japan. And the way that I read that chart is that if Okinawa is 8k miles away from Shreveport Regional(SHV) then the cost in Qantas points is 50k in ecomony...is that correct? Frequent Flyer points required for Flight Award travel with Qantas, Aeropelican, Airlines of South Australia, Airnorth, Air Pacific, American Airlines®, Australian Airlines, British Airways, Horizon Airlines, National Jet, Norfolk Jet Express, O'Connor, Polynesian Airlines, QantasLink and Sunshine Express. I have to make the decision about moving just 20,000 Starwood points as well. If I want to go from Boston to London in coach, am I right in calculating that it would take 50,000 Qantas points (or 20,000 Starwood) points per ticket on AA or BA?
