unused segment of Around the World Ticket

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post my query, but since I bought my ticket at Qantas, I'm giving this a try. I bought an around the world ticket and was unable to use one of my North American segments because a British Airways flight I was on arrived after my connection had already taken off. I hired a car and drove the 2 hours to my next destination because I could not wait around for the next available flight (6 hours later). My segment was reinstated for MIA-RSW, the flight I missed.
My question is, can I get my segment reinstated to be used for a new destination. I will not be traveling to MIA again, and I would like to use the segment to go to the west coast. Any experience with this or advice on who to contact?

Thanks!!

I would VERY much doubt it but take it in to a Qantas office and give it a try.

Are you already back from the RTW in question? If you're still in North America, it may be possible, but otherwise I think you're out of luck.

I'm still in the US (in NY). I'm not aware of any Qantas offices here that I could go to.

Presumably your ticket is a One World Explorer fare (fare code xONEn, e.g. AONE5), in which case any Oneworld airline can reissue it (not just Qantas). You could go to an AA office, for example. The segment can be changed for a fee (USD 75) as long as you have not left North America using that RTW ticket. Once you leave a continent any unused segments are gone.

No ticket offices except Tucson, Arizona. But best to call AA RTW desk at 1-800-247-3247 (that is assuming you had at least one AA segment in your itinerary) and explain what happened. They should be able to change your itinerary and reissue your ticket without the $75 fee (because you had a misconnection).
