First Class Cabin Configuration

How close together are the middle seats in the first class cabin? Can two people travelling together easily talk to each other or is the spacing to far apart. As you can tell, I've never flown international first class in a 747.

(Edited to add)

Does QF supply noise reducing headphones in C?

You can easily talk to each other. Row 2 has them closest together.

The middle seats are designed for people travelling in pairs.

No, QF do not currently offer noise cancelling headphones in any class. Note QF do not have a C class, their business class is J (full fare), D (discount business class) or U (award business class or upgrades from Y).

QF have announced they will offer "high quality" noise cancelling headphones with the new business class cabin upgrades when they start next year. No mention of which brand.

The F class headphones are noise cancelling.
Not as good as AA's Bose , but not too shabby.

Thanks for the info.

Not the ones I was offered. They were the same as offered in J. I was glad I had my own Sony NC-20's with me.

They had noise cancelling last time I was in the F cabin a few weeks ago.

Yes - the first class headphones are noise cancelling - very strange three pin design. Wouldn't have thought any other headphones would work in the cabin ...

My Sony's plugged in just fine. Can't remember if I used the 2-pin connector adapter or the mini stereo (3.5mm) jack. I was on VH-OJE with the new IFE by the way.

Any headphone will work, though if it is a single pin, it needs to have the 2 pin converter on it. I am not sure what the 3rd pin actually does, other than assuming it is to do with the noise cancellation. I normally use my own headset since it is better than the handed out ones

You need the the 2 pin convertor to get stereo.
I'm not sure why the 3 pin set-up. maybe to dissuade people from pinching them?.
The Bose headphones on AA are two pin , altho those are collected before the end of the flight on their F service.
The new Airbuses on CX have headphones that are hardwired into the seat which makes it annoying for those who prefer the ear-bud
Sony's (like me)
