Nonrefundable ticket
I am sure this has probably been discussed before but what is the policy for nonrefundable tickets? A cruise I had scheduled in November has been canceled and my insurance will not cover the air tickets I booked myself. Thanks for any information.

You could call Qantas and discuss with them your options.
If you cancel the airline ticket you should have a credit which can be used towards other flights within 12 months (less the change fee as per the original booking conditions). |
It depends on the fare rules. For domestic fares it is normally the case that the value can be applied to another ticket, but many international fares do not have that. For these, if you cancel you have anywhere from fully refundable to completely losing it
If it is a purely voluntary cancellation, it would not be normally covered by insurance. I am not surprised that the insurance company will not cover this tbh Dave |
