If I were to fly SYD-CNS-MEL, I can have 1 32kg bag in economy, correct?
Also what option would earn me tier pts on BA (if anyone knows) super saver? Flexi saver? any jetstar options?

Has the economy baggage allowance on QF domestic always been 32kgs or is this a recent change?

It's been up to 32Kg per bag for at least 13 years. However, in 1994, you were allowed to check 2 x 32Kg bags in QF Domestic WHY.

But please be careful when flying JQ on a QF flight number. You would think, QF rules apply(the 32 kg among others). But JQ happily charges you here on excess baggage, since they apply a strict 20 kg rule, which I find unacceptable in that scenario. QF should consider how to deal with that situation and give orders to their subsidiary.

The slow and gradual wind back of benefits and allowances. Anyone care to bet on whether QF will follow BAs lead charge for anything over 24 kgs (IIRC). At least it isn't as bad as the real LCCs (like BE) who charge for a bag, charge for seat allocations etc etc.

BA's rule (from September) is max 23kg per piece.
