Upgrading on QF

I did a search on the QF forum, but couldn't find a thorough answer.

So, I have 79000 points with QF, but have a Bronze Status. I want to Upgrage from MEL - PER either QF 485 or 775. On www.seatcounter.com, it says: U3 on QF 775 and U1 on QF 485. the flight is on 14/4.

Are my chances slim of upgrading or do I have a high chance of being upgraded?

Cheers.

Domestic services are pretty much first come first serve (since you can't waitlist), so ring up now or upgrade yourself online. (Subject to you having an appropriate fare class, of course)

Welcome to FT!

I believe you can request an upgrade online up to 24 hours prior to departure, so keep trying each day - you never know.

If you have QP access (sounds like you don't based on your post) then you can request an on departure upgrade (ODU) from the QP service desk after you have checked in for your flight. Generally if there are any spare seats in business class then they will grant ODU's on a first come first served basis.

Assuming that fare bucket number is correct, and you have an upgradable fare (not red-edeal) then a U3 shows that you will be able to apply for and get an upgrade. (assuming no one else steals the seats before then)

Being domestic, it will be confirmed instantly.

I've done this recently - we shopped for flights based on U class availability, then booked an S class fare and upgraded it 30 minutes later.

As posted, if an upgrade is available domestically on QF flight it's first in first served.

I'd advise you to upgrade on QF485 if you have not already done so; it's a 743 which normally has better Business class seating ("Dreamtime") than the domestically configured 763's ("Millennium").

Thanks for all the help. I got my upgrade confirmed on QF485 on the 743.
