Timing to request an international upgrade?
 
Just looked at my trip itinerary for an international trip that I have booked for late November and the upgrade status says "Request period opens 27 August" which is today. The trip was booked on the Qantas website and the ticket has been issued.

My question - even though today is the 27 August, does the flight open up for the international upgrade request at 6.05pm tonight to correspond with my departure time from SYD on the day I am due to fly?

someone correct me if im wrong but i dont think that the time is really an issue. You should be able to place an u/g rqst on the 27th at any time. Good luck!

Previously I've called up on the morning of the day involved and the staffer has waitlisted me. At that time the website is still telling me that I can waitlist from that day.

Not sure exactly when the website allows you to waitlist - but calling up should see it sorted out quickly.

Aus_Mal, thanks for the advice. Have just called the service desk and put the request through via them and the status is now showing as "requested" so thanks again.
