Opening of I class

Ok, I am very tempt to do a SR this weekend but the problem is I must pay and fly tomrrow so I can be back at work by Monday. Whats on my mind is HKG-LHR-MIL-LHR-HKG
The problem is that there are plenty of seats with Qantas with I class, do you think my TA and having my status with help opening 2 I class from LHR-MIL on BA? The price of the ticket is kinda cheap, HKD$20800 + tax and surcharge for 440 SC.
I'm starting to run out of ideas where to do my SR within Asia on OW carriers. The HKG-BKK-SIN SR does not fit my bill for 300+ SC. Any tips? Or should I really invest in a 3/4LONE ticket at this price? (mental note... I cannot get too much time off at the office) :(
Cheers Wongo

Not a hope in hell unfortunately. Status means nothing on opening revenue availability. Status can only help when trying to get an award redemption - and only on QF.

My TA in HKG, she can force open a revenu availabilty on my CX flights once in a while. It works about 60% of the time. Bugger, looks like I arn't flying discount J this weekend.

You could always just fly to LHR and back rather than add MIL. Otherwise why not ok at some other routes with I availability?

Why not get them to drop you into economy for the LHR-MIL sector? You will at least get all the SCs for the long haul trip which I am guessing is what your after?

hmm, I need 505 SC, the trip if in J can hull me 440SC. So it leaves me with one regional J to finish off my requirement before Oct 31th.
Otherwise, I can risk it all by not flying this year and hope they comp me for a year.

I am sure you can reach 505 SC in just under 7 months! I requal next week just 3 1/2 months into my membership year so I am sure you can do it. I have not done a single MR/SR which makes things even scarier. WTP however is the key this year. I suspect that based on my current travel patterns I should hit PG in a few more months, although I am hoping that something will happen sometime around September which will curb my long haul travel patterns. This will be a huge relief as this long haul stuff even in WTP is starting to kill me!

There proves the addiction - you just keep needing more and more and better and even more better (betterer?).
