20% off domestic award

Just got the April e-news
Save on economy Award flights within Australia
for travel 1 May to 30 June 2006
sale ends 30 April 2006

Right now, we're offering Frequent Flyers a big 20% points discount on Economy Award flights~ within Australia with Qantas, QantasLink and Jetstar (with a QF Flight number).

View the full range of destinations available and book online at qantas.com

Be sure to quote 'DOMALL20' and have some alternatives ready in case your first choice is not available.
So if I booked for June PER-SYD-PER for 36,000*.8=28800, then changed it to when I really want to travel (July) would it be +5000 = 33800 or would they change it to 36000+5000? Is it worth it for 2200 points?

Exclamation Limited 743 ops. on QF25/6 have begun!

Thursday 27th April 2006

Qantas 747-338 'VH-EBV' is operating MEL-AKL-LAX [QF25] tonight. However, due to payload restrictions out of AKL, -EBV will operate the Auckland to Los Angeles sector via Honolulu.

Just a reminder also, today marks the introduction of 743s on QF 25/6 on THU/SAT flights until early June.

Wow, I would have expected the 743 to be able to make it to LAX with a full pax load! Must be expecting some serious winds, or they have filled the belly with lamb roasts and sheepskin boots.

Do the pax have to remain on-board at HNL? Or do they undertake immigration and customs during the HNL transit and have a domestic arrival into LAX?

QF 9/MEL-SIN-LHR/3 MAY 2006

Due to a problem with the 744's #2 engine and as a result, a rejected takeoff, ETD is now 11pm tonight. QF 9 usually departs at 3.30pm each day. Ouch

EDIT: QF 9's departure has been delayed further. ETA is now 12.40am. I can imagine PAX are fuming...

QF 583/SYD-PER/2 MAY 2006

Due to maintenance issues with a particular 743 [namely VH-EBW], VH-OJB [2-Class 744] operated QF 583 from Sydney to Perth last night. Skybeds would had made for a nice flight to PER

Update regarding QF 009 on 3 MAY 2006 - MEL-SIN-LHR.

Scheduled Departure: 03 MAY 15.30pm
Actual Departure: 04 MAY 01.53am

Of course people were fuming as QF weighed up the idea of 'hotelling' or waiting for aircraft #2 engine to be fixed....

There are reports circulating, suggesting that the pax. got so rowdy the police had to be called. This could be utter *rap and someone could be spewing rubbish, although it wouldn't surprise me if they were indeed called

Apparently Australian Airlines 763 "VH-OGJ" operated both QF115 BNE-AKL and QF134 AKL-MEL today. If correct, I wonder what procedure was in place for J Class passengers?
