Redeem2go
Hello
Am new to this forum, found it when I was doing a search in google, looking to understand my Qantas FF points and how to get the most out of them. Am particularly cheesed off by the 2,500 points penalty incurred when you have to ask for help...and since booking awards flights isn't always straightforward, it seems inevitable that you will be 'fined' for lack of knowledge! Sorry, that's my rant for the moment! The real purpose of the post was to ask if anyone has used Redeem2go... http://www.axistravel.com.au/html/Redeem2go.asp and if so, was it worth using them, would you recommend them, etc. many thanks! :) g |
The 2500 points is only if you complete a booking. Just asking costs nothing. If you want knowledge about anything, you are at the right place! And, welcome to FT gmf.

Redeem2Go. Never used them. No plans to, and doubt I ever would.
If you're Molly Meldrum you might ;) http://entertainment.news.com.au/sto...0-7484,00.html While they probably provide a great service, I believe the information you would gain from hanging around here for a while would be nearly as good (if not better). That said, if you are the kind of person who wants to use FF points totally hands off then they might be perfect for you. I don't like the charges they make but like any kind of managed service you pay for someone else to do what you don't want to do. Others may have more "hands on" experience with them, but I do doubt that people using this forum often would use them. |
Thank you all for your warm welcome!
I am probably going to ask some really dumb questions, so I apologise in advance! Also not sure about forum etiquette and whether I should start a new topic...but here goes... I flew to the UK last Christmas, economy class, using my FF points. I am planning to go back again this Christmas, using my points, but I don't want to go through jetlag again...and I'm getting too old to relish the thought of sitting up for 24 hours... I thought of these options, since I don't have enough points to fly both ways business class: Fly to the UK business class using FF points, buy a one way ticket from the UK, and break my journey at HK. (Expensive, I know.) or Fly economy both ways, using FF points, and break my journey in HK on both legs. Can I do this? or Buy an economy return ticket, and use my FF points to upgrade to business class on the outward leg...but given some of the posts on this site, an upgrade is not guaranteed, so I would still have to plan a stop over somewhere, just to give my rapidly ageing body a rest... Any thoughts? many thanks G :) |
Try BA World Traveller Plue (WT+) and stop over in BKK for a day or two. That fare will give you a Euro side trip and a stack of Status Credits and FF points. Not as good as Business, but a hell of a lot better that WHY (Economy) in terms of space.

Tickets out of Asia seem to be cheaper to Europe than direct from Oz. So if you are planning a stopover on the way its worth looking at 2 seperate tickets.. Say Australia- Singapore round trip and then a second ticket Singapore - london.
Worth a few minutes at www.zuji.com to see if comes out any cheaper... |
Thanks Og and cmdsea!
Will have a look at both suggestions... cheers G |
