Air NZ do this for requalifications. It takes 1500 "Status Points" to qualify for top level "Gold Elite".

Re-qualification is 1350 Status Points. Up to 650 (~50%) earned more than that this get carried forward to your next "year" for re-qualification.

Exceed 2000 total, including any carried forward from your previous year and you get a year's Gold Elite Status banked for when you don't requallify.

These 'banked years' are cumulative. e.g. Exceed 2000 SP for 3 "years" - have Gold Elite status for 6 years.

I have a similar situation to what people have been mentioning above - my Plat status is due for Status Reassessment at the end of November 2011 and I'm only at 1020 SC's for the year. My account now shows Platinum status and reassessment at end of Nov 2012. It has been like this for a week or so.

I had intended on booking some OW flights to bring this over the platinum threshold, but now may consider *A. Can I trust what the website says now, or should still bring it over the renewal threshold. Haven't received any emails from QF regarding travel plans etc...

Assments are done around 8 weeks oiut, in your case early this month.

If it indicates 2012 then you have been comped ... and you will received a new card soon.

Some reports indicate it may be a one off for members and if you achieve the 1200 by end of November this one-of may still be available.
