Don't you need to be into the FT website BEFORE you elect to go to chat?

Yes but I am wondering whether the existence of FT chat is what has lead to FT being on the list of banned sites?

Could well be a cyberpatrol thing. The only way to get more evidence is find another lounge, or provider somewhere that uses cyber patrol to see if it is also blocked.

I doubt it is intentional to FT on the part of QF. They prob. just loaded an update from cyberpatrol and that's what did it.

(Dave wanders off to the CyberPatrol website to find a contact address, in order to ask them directly - will respond IF I get an answer).

If you go to http://www.cyberpatrol.com/support/#test and enter the FT URL, it will come back that the site is not in their list. Will report back further.

Another way of accessing FT

I was in MEL dom QP last Saturday night, and indeed, they have that CyberPatrol message when you try to access the FT homepage.

However, if you type http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ you can bypass the CyberPatrol message

Interestingly I tried FT in a corporate environment and their webwasher software booted me cuz ft is considered "chat" boo hoo! And it got me when I tried other ways to get in - so a better product than cyberpatrol....

Censored in the SIN QP as well, however adding the "/forum" to the end of the url fixed the problem

Flyertalk has been redeemed. No longer are discussions about air travel and HPs deemed inappropriate in the home of HPs at SYD

Maybe our friends over at NZ have woken up to the FT boards as well. I tried to access the boards on Monday night in the AKL domestic lounge on two seperate PC's neither of which would give me access to FT or Airliners.net. Every other site i tried was fine though. On the up side though, the beer selection was better than most QP's!!

Cheers
