They have a "shortage of therapists"

The number of therapists is irrelevant.

Are you flying on QF F tomorrow?

Another dismantling manoeuvre
Another erosion of the F product
Reason: Don't have enough spa therapists - first come first serve
So a passenger flying JL in Y would have priority over a paid F passenger on QF if they arrived in the First lounge earlier
Disappointing
Has been the case for months. My solution which works perfectly is to call up myself the day before and book my preferred appointment.

EDIT and no I don’t believe that JL Y pax can turn up and get a spot. They are still offering pre bookings but you need to proactively book them yourself. There is no longer a phone call from the F Host the day before where such things would be arranged. Generic. email only.
I presume the service remains for CIP/CL but not us lowly P1 in F.

Strange I flew SYD-LAX QF F in March of this year 7 days after F restarted and WAS contacted a day ahead to book spa. Did they just take it away?

Yes I ensured the P1 team spoke directly to the lounge this afternoon in Sydney

Don’t call the VIP team. They are embedded in the HBA call Centre now so you may or may not get an agent who is familiar with the F service. Call SYD F directly yourself.

The $1k+ price tag aside, this properly well aged wine remains the best wine I was served on any flight.
You can buy it today from Melbourne Wine House https://winehouse.com.au/chateau-haut-brion-1996 AUD 1650. BA did serve similar quality and even rarer wines on Concorde, which I was fortunate to fly a dozen times before it ended. The BA Concorde cellar was exceptional, though heavily tilted to vintage champagne and some fine Corton. Not so much Bordeaux. I've flown EK F a few times and never got any wine like that, I suppose it varies by route, or maybe who else is on board.

I remember being told by a CL colleague of mine that the QF F wines are also dependent on who is flying...this was pre-COVID.

Lol. While the F Lounge may have special bottles, I don’t believe in flight catering would change for a CL. It’s not EY Residence or anywhere near that level of service.
