Yes, same for me - back to Gold for another year. Good news, though I expect the next 12 months to be as bad as the last 12 travel wise.

Forgive both my ignorance and my bumping of this thread

I have finally booked flights (to Norfolk Island no less)

status year is due September
-have 600 SC gifted
-earn 300ish from Norfolk trip
-booked on inaugural JQ Canberra flight in September, will need to position from Darwin prior so looking at around another 100 status credits by “year end” (at this stage)

i gather
-straight up 1 year status extension on the basis of having booked and travelled x1 QF flight before end of status year
-did I hear a rumour that points earned will be rolled over into next year?

Roughly 40% of your non-gifted status credits (not points) will rollover into your new membership year. As a Platinum, you can rollover up to 500 SCs so if you finish your membership year with 1100 SCs, you'll start your new year with 500. If you end your membership year with 1325, you'll start your new year with 500. The SC rollover benefit (up to 100) for Points Club Plus members is separate an in addition to the above.

Four eligible flights

Have any QFF members outside of Australia had any luck getting an exeption from the requirement to earn four eligible QF/JQ flights in addition to the status credits? I'm trying to decide whether to start crediting elsewhere as it feels like Europe to Aus travel might be restricted for some time. I've made a dent in QFF lifetime status and don't want to start again with BAEC (or anyone else).

FWIW, I was just given WP extension to this time next year. This was after 3 paid domestic flights and lots of award flights. I was gifted 700 SCs and finished with 730 SCs. 30 SCs were rolled over to the new membership year.

If you are a non-AU/NZ member, you should have received a status extension with out meeting the flight requirements if you met the following terms: https://www.qantas.com/us/en/frequen...atus-extension

However, I met those terms, and my membership year ends on 31 July. I was not extended. I submitted an inquiry to find out what is going on.

Update: After emailing them they fixed it. I am good for another year.

As it looks like Fortress Australia / Hermit Fiefdom / Head-In-The-Sand mode will continue for at least another year, I would hope Qantas offers a new scheme to extend status, especially for those of us who continue to be exiled.

Im just about to hit Plat (1400) from 2021 flying (NZ Dom). My anniversary is Jan 1st. Does the rollover system just announced mean that if I hit 3600 by Dec 31st 2022 (ie in 2 yerars worth of flying) mean I would get P1?
Thanks

I don't think so, no. I don't believe you benefit from yesterday's announcement if you qualify on your own merit.

Trying but failing to understand what the extension situation is for those of us residing outside AU. I was sure there was to be an automatic extension again but I can't find any documentation. Looked here but nothing I can see.. https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequen...s-support.html

My status expires at the end of January so I'm starting to get stressed about it, especially since QF still seem uncontactable to confirm. I have booked and flown QF metal in the last quarter of last year so am I safe regardless of where I reside?

Confused.

You need to refer to the page on the US site

https://www.qantas.com/us/en/frequen...s-support.html

We have extended our status support to eligible Qantas Frequent Flyers who reside outside of Australia or New Zealand and are unable to achieve the Status Credits needed to retain their status, to receive a 12 month status extension to include members with a status end date between March 2021 and June 2022 (inclusive).
