Qantas and Emirates Lounge Access

Hi there,

I will be flying to Santiago, via Sydney from Auckland, on QF flight numbers.

If I am an Emirates Skywards Gold member, do I get to use the Emirates / Qantas Lounges in Auckland? Likewise, am I able to enter the Emirates / Qantas lounges when I arrive in Sydney?

Same for around the world too?

Thanks.

The answer is yes. But in Auckland I'd recommend you use the Emirates lounge, the QF lounge is, uhmm...crap.

The information you're after is on here: https://www.emirates.com/au/english/...rtners/qantas/

Or from a Qantas perspective, here: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/qantas-...#lounge-access

No International lounge access on arrival in SYD.
(Nothing to do with EK status or anything... there is NO access on arrival)

But, unfortunately for you, flights to the Americas are specifically excluded from the QF-EK partnership.
This assuming you're flying economy.

I wonder whether you should try anyway?

There are more reports of EK lounge staff refusing access for QFFP than the other way around....

Yes, agree it's worth a try.
Anecdotally it does seem to be the EK lounges that more often apply the exclusions.

I'll give it a try and report back. Only four hours til we find out if either Emirates or Qantas let me in to their Auckland lounge!

Everywhere I've read on the Qantas and Emirates websites suggest that I should be fine and it doesn't mention that you have to be on a specific route for them to recognize your membership.

Ok so after waiting an hour for the International Departures to open at AKL Airport, finally made it through and am in the Qantas lounge! Success for this leg!

Emirates lounge doesn't open till 1045.

You made it into the QF lounge at AKL because the QF/EK partnership also covers Trans-Tasman flights operated by QF or EK.
EK Gold will probably not get you into either the EK nor QF lounge in SYD if you are flying to the Americas.
