Well almost 15 hours later and no response on twitter via private DM. Must I go ‘public tweet’ to grab their attention. Seems sad if that is the only way.
have also emailed customer relations. No response.

This sucks but I don’t see how the airline can prevent it, particularly if one of the passengers on your flight brought it on board...
Imagine if you got bed bugs from your hotel and YOU brought then onto the plane yourself. Are you now going to pay out everyone else who got bitten?

Have you considered that these bugs were in your socks before you go on board? Just askin'.

They’ll be too busy handling irrops and stranded pax due to weather in MEL in recent days. I’d estimate 1000 pax needed hotels last night and MEL based flyers were told to go home and check their aps for rebooking.
But, as above, I wouldn’t expect QF to do anything.

Did your doctor have an opinion on those marks around the ankles. In case it may have been a delayed reaction to insect/bug bites?
Edit: While not defending the QF lack of acknowledgement, that photo could be of some random ankle at some point in time. At least a doctor can determine that it’s your ankle, and maybe the cause of the bites/ reaction.

Ouch. Not wanting to suggest these aren’t bed bug bites but I had a similar occurrence when I was back home in NZ a while back, visited Rotoiti had an awesome time then caught flight back NZ AKL-SFO in J, upon landing in SFO felt itchy and had bites like this all around my wrists and ankles, was furious it was bed bugs in business class until my wife reminded me it was likely sand flies and small midge bites from us hanging around lakes and beaches and then sitting on the beach or hanging out at hotpools near a wooded area. Messaged a few friends who had visited Rotoiti with us and sure enough they all had bites too. Moral of the story: likely wasnt the flight, and I was quick to lay blame. Just thought I’d share.

Sea fleas also cause similar bites; the localization to ankles and below suggests it wasn't from the QF seat/bedding as it would have gone full body.
