Entering QF lounge once boarding starts
 

Hi all. Would be interested in people's thoughts on this. Running a bit late through WLG this morning; just as we got to the QF lounge boarding commenced. The attendant said we couldn't go in as boarding had started. The lounge was totally empty and the queue for the flight was long; so I thought this was a bit OTT.

Never had any issues entering the lounge, even briefly, on Air NZ when boarding is underway.

That’s new to me. I’d expect a reminder of boarding and strong message not to dawdle!

What time was it ? the international lounge closing time is listed at 06:30 - if this was the last flight before closing , then not surprising to me that it was not allowing more admissions ( assuming referring to an international departure )

I was there that morning, with another FTer I met in the lounge.


Boarding was finished early and we departed early,


There are only 2 staff to do everything, cook, set up and clean. They also had to prepare for the JQ OOL and special QF SYD flight that departs around midday for that day.
