Can't Select Seats - Award Booking

Just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar situation or might know what could be causing it.

I recently booked a business class award on the Qantas website for next September, QF 42, CGK-SYD. I entered my BA FF Number (OW Emerald), and everything seemed to go as expected. with a ticket being issued automatically.

However, when I go to manage my booking and try to select a seat, the system just sits there and doesn't load the seat map, no matter how long I wait. I have spoken to a call centre agent and asked if they could enter a seat request manually, but they say that they can't do it either. When I look at ExpertFlyer I can see the seat map and all looks normal.

What's going on? Could it be that the booking is too far into the future?

Used QF points and then BA ffn?
Or BA avios?
How long ago? Hours/days?
Have you got the e-ticket?

Used QF points, A couple of weeks ago, have e-ticket receipt.

Try putting your QF ffn back in the reservation. If QF site does not work Finnair may work
Why do you want your BA status in the reservation?

Yes, I thought of that, and will try and speak to an agent tomorrow. Tried Finnair website, but it didn't want to change the FF No. back to QF. I've found it's quite hit and miss.

BTW, I've also booked several other flights with QF points using my BA FF No. and there's been no problem. The joys of the QF website?

Try the mobile app, that sometimes works when he website won't play.

There have been some errors with the web site today, I was getting 404 messages while trying to look at my daughters booking for this Friday.

indeed, issues downloading boarding passes here, and my jetstar flights are back to not crediting 🤣🤣

Same problem, unfortunately.

I spoke with an agent this morning who also couldn't see the seat map at their end. Suggested it might be because the booking is so far in the future.

So, still left in limbo....

Without knowing the date, I did a dummy booking for 30th September 2020 and the app was able to generate a seat map, so Iím not entirely convinced by this idea that the seat map might not be loaded so far out

I think you may be right, but I wonder why the agent couldn't see the seat map either?

The agent actually said that he'd send a message to someone in QF asking them to try and enter my seat request manually (we shall see!).

As a matter of interest, how do you do a dummy booking where you can request seat assignment before paying?
