Qantas 100th Birthday sale

Posted this on one of the travel blogs about my observations from Day 1 of the sale after the site crashed:
- for day 1 of the sale, outbound dates (not shown any longer) were Feb 23/24 & March 1,2,8 to Melbourne and Sydney - 10 tickets on each flight for a total of 100 tickets
- unsure on inbound dates that you needed to choose but there seems to be a range
- I just did a quick sample of above dates and a return in 1-2 weeks - those tickets are pricing out (post $200 sale) at $695 per person, so essentially qantas discounted 100 tickets by $495 - so they "spent" $49,500 on the ticket portion of this marketing campaign for day 1 - not sure how "normal" this is with regards to discount amounts, number of tickets/dates available?

I got one today for May and I'm wondering the same. The upper deck economy section is showing as completely blocked out but I can't see a way to change the booking to enter my BA details to see if I can use that status to see if there are any seats actually available and then if I could select........

I got on and there was a blue Birthday Sale tab, but the fare immediately under it was over $1200 and if you tried to book it, it came up Premium Economy. Tried another one where the Birthday Sale tab was in a different spot but the fare came up $354 for Economy. Clearly, Qantas is having serious site problems.
