Question Complimentary Gold Extension or not?

Hi everyone,
We were just looking at my mum's QFF account.
Her membership year just ended 31 Aug.
For her last membership year that just ended, she was Gold and flew 4 QF sectors but did not fly enough to attain Silver.
However, because of the soft landing, we expect her to drop to Silver.
After logging in for the 1st time since after the end of the last membership year, there was a banner which says
"Congratulations, you have retained Gold".
However when I check the "my account" where there is that display timeline, it shows
Start: Gold, Retain Silver: 250 Attain Gold 700.
So I am just wondering whether it is just a glitch that still shows her as Gold, or Qantas was generous enough to comp her 1 more year of Gold.
Planning to check the account again in a few days time.

Hi igel,

There is a well-documented "gotcha" whereby there's a phantom status extension for a number of days after the end of a membership year. The chances are that it will show the true (drop to silver) status in about a week's time.

Regards,

BD

This is a known issue with QFF at the end of a membership year when status is expected to drop. The status hold for a few days into the new year.

Silver will almost certainly be reflected on log in by the end of this week.

It is just a grace period - it does allow for some end of year credit to be processed which could mean that someone might actually have earned enough without the person ending up losing benefits for a few days

My wife has fortuitously experienced a glitch in the system which has now extended for six months.

She dropped to Gold at last status review and this is reflected on the QFF site however on QR, BA and CX flights since (including today) her QFF number still says OWE next to it.

A nice little glitch which has allowed continued use of F lounges.

Were those flights booked before the status drop?
