Advice for filing complaint for damage sustained in flight?
A member of my family was flying on a paid business class ticket from SYD-JFK on QF11, seated in 3F on the 789. The person in the adjacent seat 3E had been drinking a glass of red wine, which the crew failed to collect before landing at JFK. Upon landing, the wine glass flew into the air and smashed, dousing my relative from head to toe in red wine and glass shards. Her clothes and shoes were ruined, and she suffered a small cut on her leg. A crew member came to clean up the glass, but none of the crew offered any apology or expression of sympathy. I would appreciate any advice on how she should proceed. She attempted to submit a report on the QF website but received an error message saying the report could not be filed due to system error.
