In some ways I would rather have double points offers which hitherto they have only done once a year.

got a targetted DSC for HK-Australia today by email, after I ignored their recent 50% SC promotion. BUT i'm not happy. i usually buy HK-AUS-XXX connection somewhere for holiday. They aren't clear if domestic sector is included or not, or the connecting segment.
so i'm not acting on it. They can see everytime a general DSC came out I purchased J fare for needless travel. So i keep waiting for generic promo or something that actually works, not some random restricted promotion.

I didn't get it, but I've made maybe one SYD-HKG flight in the past year, and that was CX.

DSC offer received for flights worldwide.
Questioning the logic as I'm just about to retain Platinum half way through the year (flight is booked and everything), and have no chance of getting close to Platinum One due to my (employer's) preference for being at the back of the bus.

I got a DSC offer for flights worldwide last night, but a narrow booking and flying period. I'm not planning any travel during that window, so lost on me.

50% DSC offer received which appears unlimited within booking period. Unfortunately its not of much use since future bookings will achieve the desired result.

In my very humble and probably ill-informed opinion, I can see the frequency of DSC offers decreasing in future. As QF beat Virgin into submission on domestic and overseas travel markets, and also undercut other major airlines into their home countries, QANTAS has no real need to make DSC offers. I am talking about J class here, I have no idea how this opinion stacks up on economy fares.

so this year I’ll make QF plat, I’ll easily make VA silver if not higher, and I have a large amount of outstanding personal travel to book. Last year I wouldn’t have looked beyond OW unless there were no options, this year I’m actively looking at VA partners for the long hauls. DSC would be handy for LTG although LTP is set at such a daft level that i don’t feel the need to push too hard as will meet LTG requirements within about 8 years at the current rate. So not sure the war is won quite yet

I got really lucky there, making LTG years ago. I flew a LOT after 9/11 - when Double Status Credits/ Double Points were running for months because nobody was flying anywhere.
I racked up about 3,000 SCs in 6 months.
LTP is set at an astronomically high level. Utterly ridiculous and needs to be reviewed compared to BA LTG or the hotel programs offering lifetime status.

I just got:
1. A 50% bonus SC offer for travel to early April 2020
2. Birthday offer of triple QF points for travel to 30/3/20
They really do have a wonderful insight into my travel plans as I have no QF trips planned during these periods. The triple points would have been wonderful had it been valid for travel to the end of May!
