Emergency exit & August travel

Sorry. I didn’t know how to name this thread...

Basically what’s going on it August? Trying to get flights into Melbourne, or Sydney and every flight from Asia is full between 5-8 Aug. Seems to be similar situation for other flights on other airlines too. Returning from Melbourne I managed to snag two seats on the 15th Aug to Singapore..

Having said that, what is the procedure is securing emergency exit seats? Payable? I’m AA Plat so OW Sapphire.

Thanks!

Exit row seats, if available, are chargeable

just make booking and then in seat selection, choose the exit row seats and pay the fee

Thank you. That’s what I thought. QF website somehow costs more than an OTA. So am mulling between the two..

.......
9 Aug is National Day in Singapore.
Singaporeans are making use of the long weekend and taking a few days off work prior from the beginning of that week to make it a longer holiday to fly off overseas.

Departure is from KUL and almost all 3 flights departing on 5/Aug is full! And subsequently 6th thru to 8th.. full. Surely not from Singaporeans flying to Australia?

Interestingly, I’ve been checking AY HKG-HEL in April and May. It’s solid zeros in all classes for both flights. But SIN-HEL and BKK-HEL are showing availability (using EF). I don’t understand.

But can I get them at the airport at time of check in and still have to pay for them?

sorry about that, thought it was T-80 but on reflection I haven’t tried for an exit row for a while and even less so without status so I obviously have that wrong somewhere

I believe the only time economy seat selection for non elites is not chargeable is during checkin - online or at the airport.
