QF72 [and other flights] A330-200 *OLD* 2-2-2 Business class
I'm about to book Business Class return flights from LHR to Perth on Air France for travel in January 2020, and the SIN-PER leg is a Qantas A330-200 (QF72 / AF9669).
I'm slightly confused what seating layout we will actually get. Qantas website and Seatguru still show the old 2-2-2 layout which I believe is only left on 1 plane as the others have all been refurbed, and further searches on google show that AF72 is now operated by a 737-800.
It is likey that the last A330 with 2-2-2 layout is currently being refurbed to the new 1-2-1 layout and this is what we will fly next near?
I've been waiting for a good deal to come up as we will be flying with infant who will be 17 months old when we travel, and it works out Ł5300 return which is better than some Premium Economy fares.

Confusion continues... I went on to the Qantas site and did a test booking on QF72 on the date I plan to fly and when you go to choose seats its showing a 1-2-1 layout..... Hmmm

While this can change, it is unlikely to be to the 2-2-2 A332 pure based on probability.
It may be to the 737 as this has been used for the shortish route in the past, but even that is not too likely since Qantas upgauged this flight some time ago.

To this point, I’m on QF118 HKG-SYD tomorrow night, and when I went to potentially change seats after T-80, it wouldn’t show me a seat map or allow me to change seats, and still won’t. Concerned that they’re gonna swop it out to the old A330-200. Seat map has been 1-2-1 since booking

So doesn’t tell us anything, unless there’s a different equipment listing for old vs new A330-200(?)

VH-EBG & EBL are 36J 199Y with 2-2-2 on seat maps I downloaded 03 Mar 2019. Not showing for QF117 QF118 in recent days
Others look to 1-2-1 (but may be incorrect)
Sample aircraft on QF117 QF118
VH EBQ A330-200 27J 1124Y 1-2-1

No. The opposite
To me looks like they fly a A330-200 or A30-330 with 1-2-1 in business class. No recent history of EBG or EBL (2-2-2)
But look when your aircraft leave SYD for HKG QF117 (assumes the same aircraft turns around)

And latest info from a reliable poster on another forum is that EBG will go in for refurb in mid-May 2019.
Combined with the expected end April retirement of non-ER 747 VH-OEB, this will mean the end of SkyBed I and Rockwell Collins IFE.

I'm trying to book QF 654 , trying to get lie flat in business , as far as I know all A330s are lie flat but on some dates they are flying 737s. This is confusing me. Can someone confirm if the is a lot of aircraft swap with QF? Do they have a fixed schedule to fly 737 on some days and A330 on other days?I am going out of my way to get A330 just need to be sure before I pull the trigger.
Thanks everyone
